TO MY GRACIOUS DEAR FRIEND KENNETH. I met you through our mutual friend Richard, it was instant friend love. When I was in New York we would meet most Saturday nights to go to dinner or dancing but only after the TV show, The Golden Girls. It was a must on your TV viewing list. That meant a late night start but it was always a fun time with you as my companion.
When I no longer had a darkroom in NYC, you were so generous to allowing me to access your home and darkroom. I tried to reciprocate in some small way by doing some cleaning without interrupting your very well organized space. I know how busy life is in NYC & getting around to the details can be difficult. This day I over cleaned your cups by using a little Clorox, this was frowned upon as being toxic. You were very sensitive to environmental & political issues for your time.
Do you remember the first gift you ever gave me? ....It was GOFFY PIG EARRINGS, which I gave back to you when I stopped wearing earrings. I thought them so delightful I wanted you yo be in charge of who was to have the honor of having them. The greatest gift you ever gave me was your unique inner self. I am so grateful to have had Kenneth Sean Golden in my life. I can’t thank you enough for that great gift, my heart will miss you my dearest BUDDY. Karen Gaines
