When I first saw this piece I was stunned. In so many ways it beautifully reflected Ken's and my own shared image making subjects. Then he points out the title: "Carlos, they are looking at us," I was speechless. Then, to outdo himself, he gave me a print, one of only six!

In 2008 I turned 60 (still turning!) and threw myself a party at a local pub. In this photo party guests are enjoying themselves...and their drinks! From left to right: Willyum Rowe, Ken, and Janet Henry.

In 2012 Ken curated a terrific exhibition called Etiquette at the Westbeth Gallery in New York City where he featured his series by the same name. The exhibition ran from June through July to coincide with NYC's annual Gay Pride celebrations. I was delighted to be included in the exhibition and remember that Ken wanted to do something extra and agonized over what that could be. Finally he settled on, and produced, the Etiquette Fan. The triangular fan, of course, was loaded with veiled meanings (as his work) and turned out to be a most beautiful and welcomed accesory for parading through New York City's hot summer streets!

Ken and I were invited by our mutual friend, Frank Moore, to spend the Christmas holiday at Frank's upstate country house in Deposit, New York. This photo is of Ken by the fireplace in the living room where, as I recall, we were playing parlor games.
